House sale experience:  Having experienced less than stellar results from real estate agents in the past, I started this process with reservations. I liked your business model especially for selecting agents to interview based on past performance levels. My first interview was with a gentleman named Hal Matthews. HAL works for Crye-like. I started the interview in a straight forward manner leaving no doubt about my expectations and my dislike of past realtors performances in the past. He assured me we were both on the same page and that he had a 91% closing at the asked price. I knew I had the right person. We agreed on the asking price to be 525,000$. HAL and his sister April came out to take pictures. I told HAL that from the pictures and house description that whether or not the house sold, I knew that they had presented the house in the best possible manner. The house sold in 7 days for 510,000$ as a cash offer. I had told HAL that I would try to make the house easy to sell. The house was lived in by me for 40 yrs. I presented the house to people in a pristine condition The house sits on over 5 acres with a large pool with immaculately cared for landscaping. Upon inspection, only 3 things were cited in a 70 paged report that needed correction. Two toilets needed new wax seals and an exhaust vent in one bathroom needed to be extended. The take home message from all this is that it is a partnership between the agent and buyer. My buyer had looked at 40 houses before mine. He complained that people wanted top dollar for their neglected and dirty houses. Since all this, my agent has helped find an excellent short term rental and a lot and high quality builder for my new house. HAL has since been renamed by my wife and me as THE LEGEND in real estate.
